This change in the local environmental reality and accompanying cosmic background weirdness level has now also affected you, the readers of this blog and site. There are 4,010 subscribers showing on the list just now. Do you really read / look / fap / dream this website? Due to my personal history it is a difficult thing for me to think could be true but if so I am grateful for you all. Lately the email addresses have neen looking more like they might be real people, but there are only 20 or 30 or 40 views a day the majority of the time. So the activity must be all on your readers. Possibly because the site was not compatible with your rig. Nor mine towards the end.
Anyway, this site, as of this afternoon, is now on a Dreamhost VPS with a 30Gig SSD, so I don’t think it’s going to continue to be a technical problem loading for you anymore. Yay! So you can actually come and visit and see the loverly scenery! I was amazed to see a guarantee for 100% uptime. Wow. Truth be told it was getting to be more than a bit annoying to myself so when the good people at DreamHost told me it crashed 275 times in the last 30 days, they didn’t need to push too hard at all 🙂 and it wasn’t near as much as I was fearing. I would rather not have to take out videos and images and such. It’s a major part of my art, my soul trying to croak out a bleat, if you like, so—it needs to live free.
I don’t remember if I posted about poor Mescalito, my ever-so-damaged and beloved whip. At any rate, angels came and have taken care of me. Love! That’s what that is. I continue to be astonished at how lucky I am despite the conditions I wallow in.
Feeling uncomfortably Ludditical in the studio, though…and that is not at all good…it is seeming to be a little bit of a struggle for me to get my mind back into it. ‘It’ being the ultra-techie nerd geekazoid that inspired my UB film school classmates to give me the nick ‘Doctor Ig.’ Oh dear.
It’s the FireWire. Yes. There is a difficulty in getting the Fire in the Wire consistently. It’s driving me crazy. I have had FireWire devices before and I have never had a problem. I guess this is progress 🙂 sort of as it is physically going into a Thunderbolt 3 input via two pricey little Apple wires.
I see what’s happening, though and have started to fix it but there’s more to do as this morning…well. LOL. Nothing to do with the interface, by the way, it’s to do with the communications being lost at the computer end of things. Been talking to Matthew at Focusrite and he has sent good words and a nice guide which I will open in a while. They are really nice people over there, besides making really nice microphone preamps.
So…won’t be long now! Spent time doing the optimize rag. Except for two, but they are known and all now.
Need musicians, more mics, more instruments, more everything…
And the biggie… personal gitgo.
