North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s limousine arrives for a wreath-laying ceremony in Vladivostok, Russia, Friday, April 26, 2019. (Associated Press)
In addition to limousines, Kim is believed to have used a Mercedes Maybach S600 Pullman Guard and a Mercedes Maybach S62 for his two summits with Trump, both of which are banned under the sanctions.
The car above is a W221 Mercedes-Benz Maybach S600 Pullman Guard of 2010 to 2013 vintage. Also on the North side of $1,000.000.00. Kim has good taste. See here for more info.
The latest Pullman Guard goes for $1,570,000.00. But Daimler obeys the EU and US sanctions and doesn’t know how he got one. From a third party source, no doubt. Interesting because it’s not what you’d call a mass production item. It’s got a strong, 517-horsepower, 5.5-liter, bi-turbo V-12, is fully armored, 21 feet long, weighs in at 12,000 pounds and has every communication gizmo one can think of.
Here’s one now:
The Maybach S62 also goes for at least $500,000.00 and is of course intended for a chauffeur, but is a high-performance car, to be sure.
Here’s an S62:
Kim’s way of giving the finger to the West.
It reminds me of the DemonRats always trying to get our guns. The criminals will still have guns. And Kim will have his cars. Party members will still get their goods, it’s just harder for them with sanctions to skirt.
Let’s not forget that there has been no change at all for the North Korean populace. I made a post praising the first Summit. Well, both summits have been total failures with no appreciable effect for us, but Russia’s doing well with them and I think there are a couple of North-South projects planned.
Time will tell, as usual.
