In it’s day, the legendary Denbeigh Super Chauvinist Mark VIII Saloon (my *true* dream car) was widely regarded as the high-point of post-war British automotive design, rivaled only by the Austin A40 Somerset for its singular combination of styling and performance.
Denbeigh Super-Chauvinist Mk.VII Saloon (T) The Super-Chauvinist retains all the beloved design of the Denbeigh .engineering practice. (R1) It has a truly robust hooter, excellent winkers and a first-class jack. (R2) Its performance is not torrid but beautifully matched brakes fade as one, and engine scream drowns all distracting sounds. (R3) Its leaking of petrol fumes is well nigh intolerable; luckily fuel is rapidly guzzled up by the engine before the driver can be overcome. Car and Driver March, 1967 p. 50
Today we return to the unpleasant subject of the International Forest of Friendship (IFF) and its recent request to unsubscribe from this blog and reject the honest work that’s done here on behalf of an extremely worthy cause. Now it’s not only this blog that they have no respect for, it’s the iconic aviator Calvin […]
Josephine Blanco Akiyama, a name that needs no introduction to anyone interested in the history of the disappearance of Amelia Earhart, and inarguably the most important and well known of the original Saipan eyewitnesses, died at 95 of a heart attack on Jan. 8 at her home in Foster City, Calif. Earlier today, Josephine’s son, […]
Today we return for further examination of the remarkable deposit of evidence that American miliary personnel provided to Earhart researchers that solidified the undeniable fact of the presence and deaths of Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan on Saipan. In my March 13, 2020 post, “Veterans recall seeing Earhart photos on Saipan” we began with Ralph R. Kanna, […]
When it comes to dismissing the truth about the Saipan presence and deaths of Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan following their July 2, 1937 disappearance, establishment “historians” and authors are unanimous in their rejection of the so-called “Japanese capture theory,” and insist, for any number of false and specious reasons, that the fliers could never […]
Bill Prymak’s “The Impossible Coincidences” or “Is Everybody a Conspirator and Lying Through Their Teeth” (displayed in all caps) appeared in the February 1994 edition of the Amelia Earhart Society Newsletters. It’s a two-page discussion of the well-known “Broken Wing” description of the Earhart Electra on the ground — or possibly in the water — […]
North Korea recently carried out its fifth provocative missile launch of the year. According to a source in the country, Pyongyang moved up the dates of their launches for strategic reasons. North Korean authorities fired off two projectiles on Tuesday morning, presumably cruise missiles. Prior to this, North Korea fired a ballistic missile from Yanggang […]
Tensions are rising among residents of the China-North Korea border region after the authorities announced they will severely punish those who talk on the phone with people in South Korea. According to a Daily NK source in Yanggang Province on Thursday, the Ministry of State Security issued an order to its provincial branch in Yanggang […]
North Korea initially prepared for a military parade marking late national founder Kim Il Sung’s 110th birthday anniversary on Apr. 15, but the event has been expanded to include late North Korean leader Kim Jong Il’s 80th birthday anniversary on Feb. 16. Due to economic and logistical reasons, North Korea appears intent to hold one […]
A recent meeting of the people’s committee of Sinuiju, North Pyongan Province, called on parents to better adhere to the party’s childcare and education policies by conducting home-based education in parallel with school-based education. A source in North Pyongan Province told Daily NK on Wednesday that the people’s committee gathered the city’s dong (local district) […]
Exchange rates in North Korea have been skyrocketing since the recent restart of China-North Korea freight train service. Even though North Korean authorities have not issued any specific orders regarding the restart of broader trade, traders and donju (wealthy entrepreneurs) are expecting imports to expand and are buying up foreign currency. According to Daily NK’s […]
North Korea has ordered border patrol troops to fire flares instead of live ammunition out of fear that “unconditionally firing on” intruders along the border is harming the country’s international image. A source in North Hamgyong Province told Daily NK on Tuesday that the government had ordered that all border patrol units along the Tumen […]

DPA IS ON MARS!
My buddy, the “fluke armed rock”
← This sequence is cropped (and looped) from the last 10 frames of the video captured on Sol 6 by a camera on the lander for NASA’s Mars Pathfinder rover. Not enough pixels, but still, mighty impressive. This evidence was discovered -way- back in the day by Tim Beech, Life On Mars. Well, it does seem to be moving, doesn’t it? Camera artifact? Maybe! Let’s FIND OUT! Is this why there has been no video on the rovers; and not bandwidth? We are, after all… watching this video. Which might even be of my little fluke-armed rock buddy, shown at the bottom.
