Seven members and associates of Chicago’s North Side Gang were lined up against a wall and shot dead inside a garage on February 14th, 1929. The only surviving witness to the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre was a dog named Highball, who was chained up in the garage when his owner John May was murdered.
Gruesome.
And to this day, this sort of thing remains a key feature of life in Chicago.
