The U.S. has some terrible drug policies, but what’s happening in the Philippines right now is unprecedented. President Rodrigo Duterte was elected last month after promising to wipe out crime and corruption throughout the Philippines, and has encouraged law enforcement, and even civilians, to kill people suspected of selling or using drugs. Duterte promises to fully pardon anyone involved with the killings, and last week police announced a plan to erect a large billboard outside their headquarters in Manila that will keep tally of all the drug-related killings, which Duterte estimates will reach 100,000. | ||

It would appear that the Philippines is far from being an idyllic spot to live. The insanity of the psychopathic murderer in charge also does not speak too well of the people, either. To me…but neither do our choices. But they must be animals (sorry, animals, lack of a better w… o wait!) savages! Yes, that’s it, Savages. Freakish things—nodes of the foulest evil energy. Yeesh.
