Just thought I’d throw this in here, rather than my “interesting rocks” thread, since it doesn’t really have to do with rocks. Anyway, here’s a .gif made with some Curiosity Right Navcam images taken 13 seconds apart. Unfortunately, it appears that the Left Navcam apparently wasn’t taking pictures at the time. I guess they don’t do that all the time anymore. Anyway, it’s like that bright spot that showed up on one of the images a few weeks back, except that it’s black and kind of looks like one of those “tic-tac” deals that are so popular these days.

Aerial anomalies on Mars are a treat for me.

This one, of course, since it’s only on one frame from one camera, could be the old cosmic ray strike and that’s been trotted out for it. Of course.

But, then again, it doesn’t really look like a cosmic ray strike, so… who knows what it is?

Naturally, my preference is a device of some sort. Or, even better, a critter! Now, that’s unlikely!

Which leads all the way back to my yoot, when a glowing orange aerial anomaly first triggered my deep interest in all things Forteana.

I love this stuff…

And, again, as noted, it really doesn’t look like a cosmic ray strike. Just look at that shape. Ya dig? Seriously, now.

Dig it.

Good discussion at Tic Tac Looking UFO Filmed In Wichita Kansas Posted On June 16

A tiny taste of the depth of discussion over at the link just above. A reply from my bud ArMaP, (an imaging expert and awesome anomalist and a fine fellow from Portugal), to another poster:

Well I suppose it does look sort of like a tic tac. But is it really as minty fresh as its namesake? The world may never know.

That’s one of the things that makes me suspicious about the original “Tic Tac” video: giving it such a name was a sure way of creating a wave of new “Tic Tac” videos, so now all new sightings are of “Tic Tac UFOs.“

That works in two ways:
1 – it makes it hard to find on an Internet search any other sighting that may have been called “Tic Tac” before the appearance of the now famous “Tic Tac” video, drowning those possible other cases with thousands of pages about the new ones. The same thing happened with 9/11, if we search for any other event that happened on that day on a different (or in the same) year we cannot find a thing that is not related to the events known as “September 11 Attacks”;
2 – people new to the UFO scene will accept “Tic Tac” as synonymous with “UFO” and will use that word instead of the old names like “cigar shaped UFO” or even “flying saucer,” ignoring those old names.

I like this sighting and video. It strikes one as legit… referring to the quality, tone and content of the comments made during the filming and the appearance of the object. Some are having trouble with the flaring effect as the thing gets close, image-wise, to the branch… to me it is just sun glare off the surface of the material.

Makes one wonder. Is this a new “flap?” Or is it just a flap of imitatives, by the usual suspects out there in the UFO fakery community?

I am impressed by the Utahnian footage and shockingly, by the recent one supposed to be Russian.

Then again, there is the topic of someone’s agenda, per ArMaP’s thoughts above which have deep meaning in the environment that the subject of UFOlogy has devolved into and the anomalous interest the mainstream (lamestream) media is giving the topic of late.

Much of the video’s glitch issues can, I think, be down to the capabilities of the device, but, of course I could be wrong. The object itself is not giving me much to feel funny about and in fact, brings up memories of the photos taken by Italian Air Force Marshal Giancarlo Cecconi on the 18th of June, 1979 in the notorious Cecconi case. The one just below is one of the best of the lot.

Cecconi case

That case… is awesome.

Dig it.

Hey, here’s a good stabilization effort…
