This NASA Satellite Has Just Detected A Huge Miles Long Structure Moving On The Surface Of Mars

Unexplained Mysteries
Nov 4, 2021

This NASA satellite has just detected a huge miles long structure moving on the surface of Mars. Today, we take a look at what this NASA satellite detected on the surface of Mars. In recent years Mars has been featured a lot in the news, and this is because space agencies are gearing up to send various missions there. NASA and other companies like Spacex have been vocal about how they plan to send humans there within the next few decades, with the end plan having various space shuttles carrying humans there daily. It sounds far-fetched but it’s something that researchers have said can happen. Although it can happen though it comes with various obstacles, mainly cost. Setting up something like this will easily go into the billions.

Good stuff. Quite a lot of it, really.

NASA’s Perseverance Rover’s New Driving Video On Mars With Insight Lander’s Recorded Strange Sounds

Physics Insight
Oct 21, 2021

The video shows NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover using its auto-navigation, or AutoNav, technology to drive 548 feet (167 meters) on Sept. 12, 2021, the 200th Martian day, or sol, of the mission.

In the end of the video are dinks and donks recorded Sounds of Mars just after sundown on July 16, 2019 (Sol 226).

Yay! Finally something other than wind. The sounds start at 2:33. Fascinating. Possibly the sound of some rocks contracting with the evening temperature drop. Whatever is causing it, it is definitely pretty strange.

Ooh, from the second link:

NASA’s InSight ‘Hears’ Peculiar Sounds on Mars

Put an ear to the ground on Mars and you’ll be rewarded with a symphony of sounds. Granted, you’ll need superhuman hearing, but NASA’s InSight lander comes equipped with a very special “ear.”

The spacecraft’s exquisitely sensitive seismometer, called the Seismic Experiment for Interior Structure (SEIS), can pick up vibrations as subtle as a breeze. The instrument was provided by the French space agency, Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES), and its partners.

SEIS was designed to listen for marsquakes. Scientists want to study how the seismic waves of these quakes move through the planet’s interior, revealing the deep inner structure of Mars for the first time.

But after the seismometer was set down by InSight’s robotic arm, Mars seemed shy. It didn’t produce its first rumbling until this past April, and this first quake turned out to be an odd duck. It had a surprisingly high-frequency seismic signal compared to what the science team has heard since then. Out of more than 100 events detected to date, about 21 are strongly considered to be quakes. The remainder could be quakes as well, but the science team hasn’t ruled out other causes.

So the labeling within the video is wrong, although the title is right; it was not the mics on Percy, but whatever, all good, eh.

Mystery Flesh Pit National Park – 2007 Disaster Report

Is the Mystery Flesh Pit real or fake? People have questions about the Texas National Park “attraction” after its creator tweeted about a long-awaited update.

What is the Mystery Flesh Pit?

The Mystery Flesh Pit is the name given to a “bizarre natural geobiological feature discovered in the Permian basin region of West Texas in the early 1970s.”

That’s in the words of the creator, Trevor Roberts. The illustrator goes on to describe the national park’s fleshy central feature, which has posters and brochures.

  • EXPLORED: Who is New York Jets star Carl Lawson’s girlfriend?

He says in a chat with Tor: “The pit is characterized as an enormous subterranean organism of indeterminate size and origin embedded deep within the earth, displaying a vast array of highly unusual and often disturbing phenomena within its vast internal anatomy.”

In other words, it is a pit whose walls are made of a flesh-like substance, and which goes deep into the earth.

Is the Mystery Flesh Pit real or fake?

As mentioned, it’s a creation by artist Trevor Roberts. Thankfully.

It’s what’s called a worldbuilding project. Worldbuilding is the process of constructing a fictional universe so, despite the official-looking brochures, it is definitely something that a creative cooked up in his head.

Most of the lore can be found on either the official Subreddit or on Tumblr, with videos being hosted on a related YouTube channel.

Gosh, good fun.

Sodalite is a type of rock that reacts with UV light. When exposed to it, the rock turns to a golden, lava-like color.

This is pretty cool. They should put UV lights on all the rovers.
